God Came Near

Familiarity can become the enemy of wonder.  We get used to certain truths, and forget how incredibly mind-blowing they really are.  Enter Christmas.

 

No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. - John 1:18

 

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” - John 14:6-7

We have just celebrated a time of true wonder and glory – something foretold and anticipated for millennia.  God our Savior with us in the fullness of time!  If the season just blew by for you this year amidst the trappings and flurry of activity, take some time to stop and ponder afresh what it means that God came near.  Do you know Him (or better, have become known by Him)?
